Nestled in the shadow of the ski jumps, Big Slide Brewery & Public House has been a Lake Placid staple for 10 years, pouring award-winning, house-brewed beer alongside a scratch kitchen menu utilizing local farms and producers. Our 10 tap beer lineup includes fan favorites like Giant Double IPA, Fireside Cream Ale, and Leipzig Gose, plus 7 other rotating beers on tap, plus a full bar. In the kitchen, our brick-oven pizzas, burgers, delicious entrées, and creative pub fare — from ahi tuna crudo to hanger steak with cipollini onions braised in our own Giant DIPA — are crafted using ingredients sourced from North Country partners like Donahue’s Farm, Meier’s Artisan Cheese, Juniper Hill, and Atlas Hoofed It. Plus our pizza dough, pretzel bites and desserts are made fresh daily at our own in-house bakery, Bake Placid. Join us for lunch and dinner daily, Sunday Brunch beginning at 10am, and Oyster Fridays which kicks off at 5pm!

Our hybrid 3.5/5 barrel brewery is located right in the middle of our bar and dining area (safely behind glass, of course). But don’t let our size fool you. We can brew over 1400 barrels if we ran around the clock. Our aim is to offer you 10 interesting and world-class beers on tap at all times. From light ales to the darkest stouts, and everything in between, we will challenge your palate and try to offer you something which you have never had before at any other brewery.
We offer 10 house beers on tap, with a wide variety of styles from Sours and Goldens to Pale Ales, IPAs, Porters, Stouts, and Belgian beers. There are always some new and exciting beers available like a Hot Pepper Pale Ale or a Brett Biere de Garde. In addition, we have a separate fermentation room, which we call The Funk Room, designed specifically for sour and wild-fermented beers such as Berliner Weisse, Gose, and Lambic beers. Big Slide pushes the envelope of beer styles. In the middle of the bar, you will see a wall of wooden barrels which is our extensive barrel-aging program at work, where we use bourbon, red wine, and fresh oak barrels to age our brews.
